Over this past weekend, we had five Junior and Senior teams make the short trip to Dubai for the world’s biggest tournament of it’s kind. With over 100,000 in attendance Dubai 7’s never disappoints as an incredible social and sporting spectacle. The Bahrain Rugby and Netball teams had some great performances and but unfortunately fell short of any silverware this year. As always, every fixture was played in great spirit and they did us all proud!
Men’s Rugby First Team – Progressed further than they have in the past 4 years and narrowly lost to an impressive Abu Dhabi Harlequins side, 12-10 in the Semi Final of the Trophy.
Men’s Rugby Second Team – Took a loss to Saudi Rugby in the Plate Quarter Final after showing sparks of excellence through the earlier stages of the competition.
U19s Rugby Colts – Lost to Al Ain Ramblers in the Plate Quarter Final but showed considerable improvement throughout the tournament considering their minimal exposure to competitive Rugby in the Region.
Golden Oldies – Lost in the Bowl Quarter Final to Dubai Sharks and showed unwavering spirit throughout the entirety of the competition.
Women’s Netball – Our outstanding performers of the weekend. They did extremely well and reached the Plate Final for the first time. They narrowly lost to a strong Kuwait side in extra time via a Golden Goal!
