JUNIOR FOOTBALL

Bahrain Rugby Club’s Junior Football Section runs simultaneously with our junior netball section on Thursday evenings, this is a massively popular section with anything up to 30 children in each age group between under 6 up to under 12. We do not currently have any annual tournaments that we are entered in. However, this is something we want to do moving forward, we also aim to host a tournament of our own. The main focus is to have an enjoyable start to the weekend with a football session.

The junior football section is pretty thin on the coaching front, and we are always looking for more coaches and volunteers.  The current coaches do an excellent job, but with such high numbers, they would welcome more support.

Under 6’s football is all about having fun! Coaching both boys and girls together, we currently have over 30 players in our squad from all different backgrounds and with all varying degrees of ability. As the main focus of the group is a basic introduction to football, players as young as four are accepted based on an evaluation by one of our coaches.

We train every Thursday evening (in season) from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.  We try to include skill development activities, as well as fun small sided games in our training sessions to ensure all the boys and girls develop their skills, as well as have lots of fun!
