JUNIOR NETBALL

Bahrain Rugby Club Junior Netball Section run’s on Thursday evenings throughout the season, and is one of the Islands largest groups of young netballers across the age groups, from year 1 to year 9. The girls train with a focus on internal competitions, local matches and the Junior InterGulf festival. We also often have teams/schools from the UAE keen to visit us and play against our teams.

As with our junior rugby section, we are well represented on the coaching front with a number of our senior netball team players taking up coaching roles with in the section, they are often ably assisted by some of the senior youth players.

Under 10’s, 12’s & 14’s Netball is designed to gradually hone each player’s skills both generally and in relation to the specific positions they may take up. The girls are taken through the basics of the game, through to more advanced tactical and game-based aspects of this fast moving sport.

The object is to gradually prepare them to join the senior ranks, as well as compete internationally at the annual InterGulf Championships. We train every Thursday afternoon (in season) from 4.30pm to 6.00pm, gradually introducing game-based developmental activities whilst still emphasizing the fun elements of the game!
