This last weekend was jam-packed with some marvelous Sports fixtures at the Club as we opened our gates to over 200 athletes from the Riyadh Vipers, Saudi Select, HMS Shoreham and Riyadh Expatriate Netball team.

BRFC Mens football v HMS Shoreham

On Thursday evening we welcomed HMS Shoreham to the rugby club for what proved to be a brilliant match. It culminated in a well deserved and hard fought  2-0 victory for the Rugby club boys against a gritty British Royal  Navy side.

Bahrain v Riyadh Vipers – Junior Rugby

Saturday morning saw the arrival of over 90 junior players from our friends at the Riyadh Vipers rugby club.  Small sided games were played across all levels from Under 6 right up to Under 14’s.   It was an excellent morning of Rugby for all the children involved and was played in great spirit. We look forward to hosting the Vipers again in the new year.

Bahrain v Saudi – Netball

On Friday morning our Senior Netball Section once again hosted a social netball game for the visiting Riyadh expatriate ladies netball team.

With the Dubai 7’s Netball Tournament only a few weeks away, it was great practice to be playing in the heat.  The game turned out to be evenly contested, and by halftime, the score was 9/7 to the Rugby Club.

In the third quarter, the Rugby Club was holding the lead, but the visiting team were defending well making our girls work hard, the score was 15/11.

During the fourth quarter, our girls switched up a gear taking the win, with a final score of 22/15.

A great time was had by all, and we look forward to welcoming the Riyadh netball team back to the Rugby Club in the near future.

A big thank you also goes out to Amy for umpiring the game.

I would just like to say a massive thank you to all Coaches and Volunteers who help make these weekends of sport possible.
