Bahrain Rugby Club has partnered with the Arabian Celts GAA in order to bring a variety of Gaelic sports to the club, at all levels and age groups. The Junior Gaelic Football Group is one of these, and along with its senior cousins is one of the fastest growing sections we have at the club, they run their section on a Friday morning before the junior rugby section begins.

We host our own tournament the same week as the Senior Gaelic Festival, which is a huge success with over 100 children competing annually. The kids also travel to one away tournament each year, they have previously played in Abu Dhabi and this year sees them travelling to Oman.

As with all our junior sections, we have a good committed group of coaches in this section who are pushing to increase the numbers all the time. They have a lot of experience with some of the Senior Gaelic players assisting with the junior group.

Head of Junior Gaelic – John Rashid

The Junior Gaelic Squad is managed and coached as part of our partnership with the Arabian Celts GAA club based at Bahrain RFC. In conjunction with programs at other local clubs and schools on the island, Gaelic Football at a junior age group level is one of the fastest growing participation sports there is. Players as young as four are accepted based on an evaluation by one of our coaches.

We train every Friday morning (in season) at 8.00am until 9.00am.  We try to include skill development activities, as well as fun Gaelic Football based games in our sessions to ensure all the boys and girls develop their skills. The section competes regularly in locally organised festivals, as well as the annual Bahrain Gaelic Games in the autumn each year
