Bahrain Rugby Football Club is historically the region’s most successful rugby club having dominated the early years of the region’s competitions, the club provided a majority of players to the Arabian Gulf’s teams prior to their disbandment.
Our senior men's team is a dominant force, competing in the West Asia Super Rugby and UAE Division 1 competitions and consistently challenging for top honors. We also boast a thriving youth, women and veterans section, fostering the growth of rugby for all ages and skill levels.

We have committed firmly towards restoring ourselves to the top of the tree within the region and has taken on professional coaching and medical support, as well as recruiting players from across the globe. In the last few seasons, Bahrain RFC’s 1st Team, 2nd Team and Veterans teams have re-established themselves as contenders for silverware in all of the region’s competitions.
Having been crowned West Asia Cup Champions during the 2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20 & 2022/23 seasons, our first and second-team have become a part of the club that exemplifies our values and inspires members of all ages to experience the different sports and social opportunities that we offer.
The Bahrain RFC 1st XV and their stablemates the 2nd XV train together twice per week. The coaching is geared towards the two side’s entry to their competitive regional leagues, such as the West Asia Super Rugby and UAE Division 1 respectively. Specialised blocks of training also take place leading up to the regional 7’s, 10’s and 15s tournaments.
Training is on Monday and Wednesday evenings with video analysis and additional conditioning sessions being held on a regular basis.

The ‘Golden Oldies’ is a squad made up of the club’s more senior players, with the official qualification being that they are over the age of 35. A club within a club, the G.O’s never fail to support anything and everything going on and can be seen entering events across the region as well as touring annually.
Local rugby consists of a sequence of friendly games with visiting navy sides, as well as those from across the bridge in Saudi Arabia. Training is officially 7.00pm until 8.30pm on Monday and Wednesday evenings, however, this is at a far more sedate pace and often joins with the Social Touch Rugby sessions to round off.
