Sports Pitches
Pitch 1
Most of our sporting fixtures, and in particular our Rugby matches, take place on the club’s main grass playing surface. This surface is complimented by spectator stands, full floodlighting and the Scrum Bar. It lies adjacent to our current changing rooms and medical support room and boasts an electronic scoreboard.
The pitch is primarily used for sports but also hosts concerts and picnic based events which allow Members and Guests to enjoy a real park atmosphere.
Pitch 2 - Artificial Pitch
Installed in 2010, to the International Rugby Board’s highest standards, the Artificial 3G pitch is capable of hosting a wide variety of sports from Gaelic Football to Rugby, as well as Cricket and Football. Its ability to be utilised for extended periods, without the wear and tear associated with similar usage on a grass surface, sees this facility used most days to host the vast majority of our sports training.
Pitch 3
This is a smaller grass surface mainly used to train our teams. Additionally, it is used for our Junior Sports and Sporting Academies. It has full floodlighting which allows us to use it on several evenings a week in order to take the pressure off of our main grass surface.
